Welcome to Bookventures Book Club

Join us and read with the book club, win
great books from other members, post your book reviews, discuss you ideas
and chat with authors.

In our book club, all genres of books are welcomed however we do have a
strict page limit of 500 pages. To spice things up we also encourage
movie adaption of books for our discussion. Our discussions take place
online in our chat room.

You are not obligated to join in our book discussions, however if you
would like too, you can read the selected book for the month and discuss
it with us. Every month, members can nominate the book that they would
like to read with the book club. Once we have a clear winner, that book
will be our read for the month.

Visitors who just want to discuss their books without the confines of a
book club are still free to do so in our forums. You can also post your
book reviews and listen to what others had to say about them.

More importantly, we hope you have fun. At bookventures, we love an
adventure and so we hope you have one with us.

Join the Presumed Innocent Read-a-long

Photobucket

Julie @Knitting and Sundries and I will be hosting a Presumed Innocent Read-A-Long. The idea is a brainchild that we both had as a way of connecting the dots to Innocent which we both listened to, courtesy of Hachette Audio Books.
We would absolutely love to have you guys join us to share your opinions on the chapters that we read.

Here are the rules/parameters of the read- a –long

* Presumed Innocent is 40 chapters long (including some opening & closing statements). So in order to complete the book in 4 weeks we thought that reading 10 chapters every week should do the trick.

Here is the schedule for the read-a-long:

July 12th – 16th – Chapters 1-10 (including the opening statements)

July 19th – 23th – Chapters 11-20

July 26th – 30th – Chapters 21-30

August 2nd – 6th – Chapters 31 -40 (including the closing statements)

* Our discussions will take place every Friday in the book club’s chat room from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Don’t worry, if you miss a chat, we will post the nights discussion in the DISCUSSIONS section of the book club so that you can get a chance to catch up. There is no need to join the book club in order to access the chat room. Simply create a user name and click join. It’s that simple.

* The first discussion will be held on July 16th. I want to give everyone enough time to get their copy of the book and read the required chapters.

* The moderators in the chat room will be Julie and I.

If you’re interested in participating, then send me an email at bookventuresbookclub@gmail.com so that i have an idea of how many participants we have.

We do hope that you would join us.
